Cleaning Powder is made for the jobs that need a bit more scrubbing power: baked-on oven grease, dull sinks and taps, grubby grout, and stains on laundry.
It's made with just seven ingredients. Washing soda cuts through grease, a plant-derived surfactant helps it get under greasy films, bicarbonate gives a gentle scrub, sodium percarbonate releases oxygen in water to help lift stains, and sodium citrate softens hard water so it rinses away with less white residue. Lemon and tea tree essential oils give it a fresh, natural scent.
Considered for what's in it and for what isn't.
Here's what you won't find in our Cleaning Powder:
❌ No chlorine bleach - our oxygen-based percarbonate breaks down into water, oxygen and soda ash.
❌ No caustic soda - the strong alkali in many oven cleaners. Our powder gets its cleaning power from washing soda instead.
❌ No synthetic fragrance - scented only with lemon and tea tree essential oils.
❌ No dyes - colourants add nothing to how well it cleans.
Refillable by design and handmade in small batches in Wales.
How To Use
How To Use
For general cleaning, sprinkle Cleaning Powder directly onto the surface, add a small amount of warm water, then scrub with a cloth or brush and rinse well. For a deeper clean, leave the powder on the surface for 10 minutes before scrubbing. It can also be mixed with warm water to form a paste for more targeted application.
✔️ Ovens
Warm the oven slightly, then switch it off. Mix the powder into a paste with a little warm water and apply generously, focusing on baked-on grease and grime. Cover with a damp cloth to keep it moist and leave for at least 30 minutes — longer, or overnight, for heavier build-up — then scrub with a non-scratch scourer and wipe clean.
✔️ Sinks, taps and stainless steel
Sprinkle directly onto the surface, add a splash of water, and scrub with a cloth or soft brush. Rinse and buff dry to bring up the shine.
✔️ Baths and tubs
Sprinkle onto a damp surface, scrub with a cloth or sponge, and rinse thoroughly.
✔️ Toilets
Sprinkle around the bowl, leave for a few minutes, then scrub with a toilet brush and flush.
✔️ Tiles and grout
Make into a paste and apply with an old toothbrush or grout brush, working into the grout lines. Leave for 10 minutes before scrubbing and rinsing.
✔️ Laundry stains and boosting
Cleaning Powder also works well as a laundry booster. Grass stains, ground-in mud, and everyday soiling: sprinkle directly onto the mark, add a splash of water to form a paste, and leave for 10 minutes before washing as normal. Muddy trainers and grubby shoes: work into a paste and scrub directly onto the affected area. Heavily soiled loads: add a scoop straight to the drum alongside your usual detergent. For best stain results, wash at 40°C or above. For oil-based marks like grease or a collar ring, use a small amount of neat Gentle Laundry Detergent instead.
✔️ A few things to know
Cleaning Powder is alkaline, so wear gloves if you have sensitive skin, and always rinse well to avoid a white residue on darker surfaces. Not suitable for wool, silk or aluminium. Do not mix with other cleaning products, especially acids such as vinegar. Avoid contact with eyes. Always patch test on an inconspicuous area first, particularly on delicate or unsealed surfaces.
Ingredients
Ingredients
Full ingredient list (in descending order): Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Percarbonate, Sodium Citrate, Decyl Glucoside, Citrus Limon Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil, Limonene.
Contains 5-15% oxygen-based bleaching agents, <5% non-ionic surfactants.
What each ingredient does
Sodium Carbonate (washing soda) is our main cleaning ingredient: an alkaline mineral salt that breaks down grease and body soils and softens water.
Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) is a mild abrasive that helps scrub away grime and neutralise odours. It also keeps the powder free-flowing and the paste easy to spread.
Sodium Percarbonate (oxygen bleach) is made from sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide. In water it releases oxygen, which helps lift stains and brighten. It breaks down into water, oxygen and soda ash, and contains no chlorine.
Sodium Citrate is the sodium salt of citric acid. It binds the minerals in hard water, helping the powder work better and reducing white residue. Readily biodegradable.
Decyl Glucoside is a mild, plant-derived non-ionic surfactant made from coconut oil and glucose. It helps the washing soda get under greasy films, even in cold water. Readily biodegradable.
Essential Oils - Citrus Limon Peel Oil (Lemon), Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (Tea Tree). Our only source of scent.
Limonene occurs naturally in lemon essential oil and is listed because it is a fragrance allergen.

Limonene
A quick note on allergens: essential oils naturally contain fragrance allergens, which must be listed on packaging. Limonene comes from the lemon essential oil, and we use our essential oils in small amounts, in line with IFRA standards. As with any product, allergens may cause irritation in some people, particularly those with sensitive skin, so we recommend a patch test if you have known sensitivities. This information is shared for your peace of mind and the sake of complete transparency.

This cleaning powder is fabulous and I can’t imagine using anything else now I’ve tried it. It’s particularly good in the bathroom for sinks, showers and taps which it leaves gleaming. It’s also made a huge improvement to my kitchen sink stainless steel plug, which had become stained. And it smells amazing. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you Morgan for another great product.
Once again received my beautiful Lavender and Lemon products. There is nothing that beats these products in my opinion. Always my go to for a beautiful smelling, clean home. Thank you.
I tried this product as a recommendation from a friend and I couldn't be more pleased. I'll be reordering it as soon as it's finished. The smell is lovely too. 100% recommended.
This cleaning powder works a treat and smells almost good enough to eat! 😃 I used it to clean the inside of my kitchen sink plug. It worked wonders but I did also flood the kitchen at the same time. 🤣👍
Been using this for my pots and pans out in the field. It’s FANTASTIC.
This cleaning powder is brilliant and smells amazing! Saving the planet one clean at a time!
Smells great, cleans well, it's perfect !
This powder has been a fantastic addition to my home care arsenal. It's easy to use, works effectively, and the gentle fragrance is just perfect. It's another excellent product from a brand that I trust not only for its quality but also for its ethical practices.
Really happy with my purchases the products work really well and smell beautiful. I love that they are refillable. Thank you so much.
I’m not really one for leaving reviews but after using this magic powder for the last few weeks I want to tell everyone about it! I’ve been a long time user of bleach and harsh cleaning products so I honestly didn’t have high expectations for a “natural cleaning powder” but I was so wrong. This powder has removed burnt on food from pots I thought would never be clean again, it shines my sink, my chrome is sparkling and it’s great for cleaning the dreaded toilet. A little goes a long way too so it will last for ages. I won’t be without this powder now and I’ve happily ditched the bleach!

Benefits
An alternative to caustic oven cleaners and bleach-based scrubs, made with just seven ingredients. Tackles ovens, sinks, baths, toilets, grout and more.
Mineral Cleaning Power
Each ingredient in Cleaning Powder does a different job.
Washing soda is the grease cutter. Its natural alkalinity breaks down fats and oils into a soap-like residue that rinses away, which is why it shifts baked-on oven grime. Decyl glucoside, a plant-derived surfactant, helps it get under greasy films, even in cold water. Bicarbonate is the scrubber. Its fine crystals are softer than stainless steel, glass and enamel, so they polish away grime instead of gouging the surface. Sodium percarbonate releases oxygen when it meets water, lifting stains from grout, sinks and laundry. Sodium citrate softens hard water, so everything works harder and rinses away with less white residue.
Together they tackle the jobs you'd normally need several products for, without caustic soda or chlorine bleach.
Lemon and Tea Tree
We scent Cleaning Powder only with lemon and tea tree essential oils. Tea tree is steam-distilled from the leaves of the Australian Melaleuca alternifolia tree.
Lemon brings a bright, zesty freshness; tea tree adds a clean, herbal edge. Together they make cleaning feel a little more like a ritual and a little less like a chore.
We use them sparingly: just enough for a fresh scent while you clean, which fades once you rinse instead of clinging to your home like a synthetic perfume. There's no synthetic fragrance, and no phthalates, which are often used to make synthetic scents last longer.
Features
Cleaning Powder is easy to use. Simply sprinkle, scrub, and rinse for a deep clean, or leave on surfaces for those tough-to-tackle jobs.
Versatile Use Across Your Home
Designed for multipurpose cleaning, this powder efficiently tackles everything from ovens to tiles, and sinks to tubs. Its versatile nature means you can sprinkle it directly, form a paste, or even leave it to sit for deep-cleaning action. This adaptability makes it the ultimate solution for maintaining a spotless home, simplifying your cleaning regimen without compromising effectiveness.
Why Oxygen, Not Chlorine
Chlorine bleach is the go-to for stains, but it comes with drawbacks: a strong smell, and toxic gases if it's accidentally mixed with acids or ammonia.
Cleaning Powder uses sodium percarbonate instead, often called oxygen bleach. When it dissolves, it releases hydrogen peroxide, which breaks down into water and oxygen as it works on stains. It's especially good at lifting organic marks like tea, coffee, grass and food stains from grout, sinks, mugs and fabrics.
For the best results, use warm water; percarbonate is far more active warm than cold. It's suitable for most colourfast fabrics, but avoid wool and silk.

I will NEVER buy oven pride again!!
"I bought a box of it as usual a few weeks ago for Xmas, so last night I put it all to soak like usual over night then today started scrubbing the inside, thought I’ll give the powder a try, well I wish I used it from the start! The stubborn stains on the glass wouldn’t budge with my elbow grease foam and scrub daddy, but that paste and the wire sponge had it off in no time, and I hardly had to scrub, it just wiped straight off!I will definitely be ordering more when it runs out it is a game changer!!!"★★★★★-Miar G

Questions
How does Cleaning Powder compare to bleach?
They do different jobs. Chlorine bleach is a disinfectant; Cleaning Powder is a scouring cleaner. Washing soda cuts through grease, bicarbonate gives a gentle scrub, and percarbonate releases oxygen in water to help lift stains and brighten. That covers many of the everyday jobs people reach for bleach to do, like grubby grout, stained sinks and toilet bowls, without the chlorine. It isn't a disinfectant, so when you need to disinfect (after illness, for example), use a product approved for that.
Can I use Cleaning Powder on any surface?
It works on most hard surfaces, including sinks, taps, stainless steel, baths, tiles, grout, toilets and oven interiors. Because it's mildly abrasive and alkaline, avoid aluminium, non-stick coatings, polished stone, gloss paint and unsealed wood. Always patch test on an inconspicuous area first.
Does Cleaning Powder leave a residue?
The washing soda can leave a white residue if it isn't rinsed well or is left to dry, especially on dark surfaces. The sodium citrate helps reduce this in hard water. If you see any residue, simply rinse it away with clean water.
Is Cleaning Powder suitable for sensitive skin or allergies?
The powder is alkaline, so prolonged contact can dry or irritate skin. Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin. It contains lemon essential oil, which may cause an allergic reaction in people already sensitised to it, and limonene (a naturally occurring fragrance allergen in lemon oil) is listed on the label. If you know you react to citrus oils, this product may not be right for you.
Why does Cleaning Powder have a warning symbol?
Because it can cause serious eye irritation if it gets into your eyes. Like most alkaline cleaners, including the washing soda crystals sold in supermarkets, it's classed as an eye irritant under GB CLP rules. That's why the label carries the exclamation-mark symbol and the word "Warning". Keep it away from eyes and out of reach of children, and if it gets in your eyes, rinse with water for several minutes.
How does Cleaning Powder affect the environment?
It's made with seven ingredients that break down into simple substances. Washing soda and bicarbonate dissolve into sodium and carbonate ions, which occur naturally in water. Percarbonate breaks down into water, oxygen and soda ash. Sodium citrate and our plant-derived surfactant, decyl glucoside, are readily biodegradable. There's no synthetic fragrance or dyes, and the 250 g jar is designed to be refilled so you're not buying new packaging each time.
